The release date of the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid will likely be in the first quarter of 2022. The Sportage Hybrid will be available for sale at Kia dealerships in the United States and North America, as well as internationally.

How much does the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid cost?

Kia didn’t yet release the price information for the 2023 Sportage Hybrid. However, you can probably expect the base model to cost around $30,000 MSRP. The South Korean automaker will likely release the full price information of the Sportage Hybrid, including the cost for each trim, closer to the release date.

2023 Sportage Hybrid specs: Horsepower, towing, efficiency, and range

The 2023 Sportage Hybrid has the same hybrid powertrain as the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. Combining power from a turbo 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and a 44-kW electric motor, it generates a total system output of 229 hp. Like the Tucson Hybrid, the Sportage Hybrid has a six-speed automatic transmission. Buyers of the Sportage Hybrid have a choice of either a front-wheel drive system or an all-wheel drive system. 

Kia claims that the Sportage Hybrid has an estimated fuel economy of 39 combined mpg. This is slightly higher than the gas mileage of 38 combined mpg that Hyundai lists for the Tucson Hybrid. The estimated driving range of the Sportage Hybrid is 500+ miles. On the towing front, the Sportage Hybrid has a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds.

Like the gas-powered Sportage, the Sportage Hybrid has a bold design that fuses rugged styling with smooth surfaces. A design highlight is the distinctive daytime running lights, which offer a unique take on exterior lighting. Additional exterior design elements include a sharp shoulder line, angular fenders, and notch-shaped taillights.

Inside the Sportage Hybrid, the cabin has a futuristic design. Notable interior features and technologies include a dual panoramic curved display with two 12.3-inch screens, a dual panoramic moonroof, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, a Harman-Kardon premium audio system, a cloud-based navigation system, and a smartphone wireless charger. Also, the Sportage Hybrid has a coat hanger molded behind the front headrests.
